There are many amazing hotels on Santorini but Aenaon Villas is among the few that really stand out. Like all hotels on the caldera, it has breathtaking views, but it is probably the only one that has more than caldera views alone: it also looks out over the open sea on the other side of the island. Most hotels on the caldera are pretty, but with spacious terraces, a sparkling infinity pool and owner-designed (almost) all-white interiors, Aenaon Villas rank among the most beautiful. The look is clean, stylish and uncluttered; beds are comfy; bathrooms are neat and modern. And there is more. There is something hardly any hotel on the cliff of Santorini can offer: total quiet and privacy. Roughly halfway between Imerovigli and Oia, the villas sit practically on their own (there is one other hotel), so even in the peak season, it is peaceful here. And last but not least, it has something that is a rarity among the caldera hotels: it is family-run. Alexandra Alexiou spends the entire summer season on Santorini. Her husband Giorgos and their two beautiful daughters join whenever they can to help out, and together with a few staff members, they provide warm, friendly, personal (and efficient) service to their guests. An exceptional small hotel on the caldera of Santorini!
The combination of views, style, tranquility and friendliness make Aenaon Villas a fantastic place to stay. Everything makes it special to me...
Two (east–facing) villas are on the side of the road and you can’t see the caldera from them; instead they have views to the open sea. Also bear in mind that to go out for a meal or to go to the beach, you need to have a car (or take a taxi).
3 villas for 2 persons (with one bedroom and a living room)

One villa has a private plunge pool
For breakfast, you have a choice between Greek, English and continental. (Go for Greek!) You can have it brought to you in your villa or have it out on the main terrace. Fruit platters, snacks and salads will get you through the day, and if you don’t feel like going out at night, you can ask for a private dinner.
Because of the cliffside location and the swimming pool, only children over 12 years old are welcome at Aenaon Villas. The largest villa with a double bedroom and two small single bedrooms is ideal for not-too-big families, but generally I would recommend Aenaon Villas more as a place for couples.
Dive into the cliff-side pool; it is large enough to do your laps. Or head to one of the volcanic beaches. There are several unorganised beaches only a few minutes by car. On a day without wind, try Koloumpos, a gorgeous north-facing, virgin beach.
Make the roughly 45-minute walk to Oia, and the equally long one to Fira. The spectacular cliff-side walk between Fira and Oia passes by Aenaon Villas.
Go to any of the popular beaches (Kamari, Perivolos, Perissa) for water sports such as windsurfing, kite surfing, waterskiing, jet skiing, sailing and parasailing. You can also ride all sorts of inflatable things pulled by speedboats. For a more serene experience, go for stand-up paddling, kayak tours or starlight kayaking in the caldera.
The Caves Lagoon near Kamari Beach, the Faros Reef, and Nea Kameni Island in the caldera are among the excellent diving sites off the coast of Santorini. There are quite a few certified diving centers on the island, so even if it is your first time, why not give it a try?
Caldera boat trips
You cannot come to Santorini without making a boat trip in the caldera. Mini-cruises with swimming and picnics included, sailing trips and luxury yachts; basically there is something for every budget.
Oia and Fira
Go for strolls through the alleyways of Oia and Fira. Enjoy the little shops and boutiques, selling anything from simple souvenirs and crafts to designer wear and art.
Visit some of Santorini’s small museums. There are quite a few interesting ones: the Archaeological Museum in Fira, the Argyros Mansion in Messaria, the Koutsoyannopoulos Wine Museum in Vothonas and even the Tomato Industrial Museum in Vlychada. And of course you should not miss the archaeological site of Agrotiri.
Aenaon Villas are situated high on the cliff of Santorini in the narrowest part of the island, 3.5 km from Imerovigli and 4.5 km from Oia. The sea and caldera views are spectacular, and the spot is very quiet.
The fastest way to get to the island of Santorini is by plane – there are several flights per day from Athens. Arriving by ferry, however, is an amazing experience and worth the extra hours spent at sea (there are high-speed boats that take about 4-5 hours from the port of Piraeus). Aenaon Villas are on the road from Thira to Oia, about 3 km after Imerovigli. It is hard to miss, as there’s only one hotel next to it (San Antonio). Arrival and departure transfers can be arranged, but as you will need a car to get around anyway, it is best to rent one, either directly from the airport or through the hotel.
